Hey everyone, this is my last blog post of the year and I've had a very splendid year working with my teachers and friends. This school has taught me a lot so I would like to thank the teachers who are leaving like Mrs Wright, Mrs Kingston and my first teacher Mrs Curtis. Hope you enjoy my favourite memory photos!
I was a Year 6 student at Hay Park School in Auckland, NZ. I was in McCahon Class and my teacher was Mrs Kingston. This was where I shared my learning.
Our class had a blog and you can visit it by clicking here.

Blog Commenting on Student Blogs!
Hey everyone, this is a blog comment that I have made on a class blog. It was very interesting to see Morse codes and games all around the blog. My most interesting post was the Morse code. Our class teacher
(Mrs Kingston) found some new blogs for us to comment on and surprisingly we got to comment on some cool blogs. I hope you enjoy my comment on Sofia's blog.

Hey Nikola,
It's me your friend from Roskill, Lyle. I really enjoyed looking at your group's maths games. Most of the games I knew, but some of them I didn't know about. I have a couple of questions, are you more interested in seeing what the slides are like? or are you interested in the information? Keep up the great work and catch you around!
From Lyle,
Check out my blog

First Aid: People's Savers Red Cross
Hey everyone, this is my new post about the first aid course. This presentation shows my answers of what I did on the 17th of November. It was pretty cool to learn some new things about how to save someone's life. Instead of calling the person that's hurt by their name, you call them casualty. I hope you enjoy the presentation and I will be seeing you comment on my next posts.

Maths Thinkboard: Estimates
Hi everyone, I have another maths thinkboard that I have completed. This is where I had to estimate the answer of 346 - 209, instead of saying the actual answer. So I completed all four tasks and I am ready to share it with you guys. Thank you for looking at my maths thinkboard, I hope you've enjoyed and answered the similar questions!
Maths Thinkboard: a x 6 = 48
Hey everyone, this is another maths thinkboard of mine. This time we were working on an different equation which was a x 6 = 48. I completed all four of the tasks like the word problem, strategy I used to solve it, ten similar questions and a draw it, model it or make it task. Hope you enjoyed!

Maths Thinkboard: -34 + ___ = 15
Hi everyone, this is my maths thinkboard that I have completed. You might be wondering, what is a maths thinkboard? Well, a maths thinkboard is a template where you would have to put in an equation and complete the four boxes on your left, right, bottom and top. Thank you for looking at my post about my maths thinkboard, I will be catching you later on some new posts. See you later!

Student Toolkit Day!
Hi everyone, on the 10th of November we were running some student toolkits. It was awesome because lots of people attended to the toolkits and learnt something. I was a technology expert ( Techs expert for short) to help the New Windsor and some of our Hay Park students how to log onto the guest WiFi. My favourite toolkit was the book track one because it showed how to add sound effects and music which makes it really interesting as you read. It kind of hooks the reader in. I also caught up with my rugby mate Ashton which was doing a toolkit on Google hangouts. At the end of all the sessions, we were in a draw to see who will win some amazing prizes, one was a brand new Chromebook. It was so awesome, but it was even awesome when all of us got some very good goodie bags. I hope you've enjoyed reading this paragraph about the fun and amazing TOOLKIT DAY!!!!!

Persuasion: Should Zoe?
Zoe shouldn't trust Dooby, Spat and Munchkin because they might trick Zoe into doing things for them, pretending to be nice but in the inside they capture people to set them up for slavery. That wouldn't be nice for Zoe, it depends because she would want to sleep and have some food. So she might stay there, but she shouldn't again, because they might be carnivores who eat humans, blood and meat. It’s not going to be good there if they were carnivores. So, I strongly disagree for Zoe to trust the three boys in letting her come into their disgraceful, wild and dangerous place. Also, she should be alerted from what’s ahead of her.
Hi everyone, in McCahon class we have been working on the viewer, as you've been seeing on my recent posts. Now, in term 4, we are working on a book named Floodland. We all got a chance to say if we should let Zoe trust Dooby, Spat and Munchkin, or if she shouldn't trust them. Hope you enjoy my paragraph explaining what I feel Zoe should do.

Hi everyone, I hope you enjoy my conversation with Denzal, Lolo and myself. The conversation is in Te Reo Maori because it was apart of our home/prep for learning. The Viewer ( Should Tristan )
Hey everyone, this is my advice I would give to Tristan. My class and I were asked to make an conscience alley and someone would pretend to be Tristan. One side is suppose to be "yes you should open the curious box again..." and the other side is "No, don't open the curious box again..." We got to choose a side and tell what we think Tristan should do. If you're wondering, Tristan is in a book named The Viewer. It was created by Shaun Tan and Garry Crews and is an amazing book. So this is my point of advice I would give to Tristan to go and check out the curious box again that he has in his room. See you later!
The Polluted Area ( Poem about The Viewer )
Lyle’s Poem
Crunched Rubbish and unwanted items
Dark mystical areas filled with food scraps and atrocious looking animals
Broken, Wrecked and crunched up glass
Cans filled with dirty water
Screwed up recyclable items floating away in the dusty air
Nobody cares about this place any more as this
Ancient City is left like a dump with a boy that loves to spend time in it

Tristan Descends into Restless Sleep
Hi everyone, Mccahon class and I have been reading a book named The Viewer by Shaun Tan. It was interesting to see dangerous images through the curious box. I was starting to think that Tristan was getting more and more curious about the box, and it also might have given him visions of scary images in his head. As you can see here, this is an image of Tristan descending into restless sleep, he couldn't sleep at all but could hardly wait to open the curious box again. Want to know more? You'll find out on another post about The Viewer. So, we've all created a presentation about The Viewer and a profile to see what we think Tristan looks like. Me and my group ( Sitaleki and Lolo) were acting out a sound scape and the link is below. Hope you enjoy!Catch you later as I continue with another post!

Rugby Tournament on Tuesday!
Hey everyone, I know I haven't been posting that much, but this is one of my favourite presentations about the rugby tournament that happened on 18th of August. I enjoyed playing against different people and I'm sure everyone in the U50's team was proud of themselves for reaching second place with only one practise. Lyle and Sene were playing for barbarians because we were wanting to play overweight players. We luckily came third place and we were also proud. Anyway, I hope you enjoy my presentation and See You Later on my next post!

Blog Comment to Shahid
Hey everyone, this is my blog comment to one of my classmates Shahid. My class and I were working on a remember when poem because we came back from camp. So we all started commenting on other people's blogs. I was so excited to see other people commenting on my blog because I never knew that so many people were interested in writing a comment on my blog. So, anyway this is my blog comment to Shahid and his blog post was so amazing. I also enjoyed looking at his collage.
Remember Me Poem - That was Camp
That Was Camp.
Remember when I was climbing the giant’s ladder with Sene and all we needed was to encourage and support ourselves with teamwork because it was more of a giant ladder?
Remember when we worked as a team together as we completed challenges through ABL’s?
That was Camp.
Remember when me and my group was surfing and riding the crashing waves in the cold morning?
Remember when me and my group were doing Archery, and my dad popped a balloon and Hunter hit a bulls eye with really good accuracy?
That was Camp.
Remember when we were shooting tennis balls at a goal through slingshot and the whole group was committing to the activity?
Remember when I was very warm in my sleeping bag ( used for -5 degree) as I slept through the night with my friends?
That was Camp.
Remember when everyone had tacos, meat, vegetables, breakfast, sandwiches, ice cream, butter and bread pudding, lamb burgers, macaroni and cheese, apple crumble, sausages on bread, rice and some sauces. ?
Do you remember?
That was Camp.

My Comment to Kereru Creators - SLEEPOVER
What I enjoyed from quadblogging was getting to comment and receive comments from other schools. It was so cool to make connections with other people because it gets us feeling positive. Sadly, I couldn't do quadbogging from all the busy work we had to do with CAMP. So now is the perfect time to comment or do some quadblogging. See you later.
Hi everyone, this is my comment to a class blog. This week we have been quadblogging and I couldn't quad blog because we had things to do, in other words we were busy. I think you have spotted a few mistakes and I'll improve it. I was over excited about CAMP, I forgot to put from Lyle and my blog link. So I made a few mistakes, but it just happens because everyone make mistakes. Thank you boys and girls for commenting on my blog and it helps me a lot. See you all later on my next post.

Each week, students from each school will be able to comment on a different child's blog, or if they may, they can choose to comment on the class blog. I hope you've understand what quad blogging is and enjoy reading my next posts later on this year.

Spedwrite Update : Stars and Beyond
The World’s Galaxy filled with Stars!!
Introduction
Have you ever been interested in stars? Stars create lots of galaxies in the dark, pitch black world called Space. Many and many of galaxies were formed and there are trillions and trillions of stars, well the estimate was that there was over 300 sextillion stars ( 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000!!). Wanna know more? Sit back and relax as this information report explains every single detail about stars.
Paragraph 1 - Appearance
Stars are often high upon the sky at night, maybe twinkling. As everyone says, stars are star, but it’s not, they are spheres that have a high temperature measured at over 1000 degrees fahrenheit. Stars can sometimes be different colours just like our sun. They are other colours like blue, red and ultra violet which means that blue is hot and red is not really hot, as in cold ( So it is a opposite ).
Paragraph 2 - Life Cycle
The birth of a star is well created from this egyptian tower called the pillars of creation. In space, huge clouds full of gas and dust create the stars as the beginning of the life cycle, which the dust and gas clouds are known to be called Nebulae ( these dust storms are bigger than our universe ). After this cycle, the stars then continue into the next cycle, as the clumps of gas form, astronomers call these protostars. Next, the centre of core of the proto star gets increasingly dense or hot until nuclear fusion is finally triggered, the energy then produced helps to blow much of the disc of gas away, leaving the new star shining brightly, although the star is born, a constant battle is going between gravity.
Paragraph 3 - General information
An exploding star that is 3 times bigger than the sun, will leave a behind a core about 25 kilometres across ( 15 miles across ). There are some stars that only appear or comes out Matariki which is the seven sisters. Mostly, people also talk about the stars burning hydrogen, so maybe the hydrogen atoms are burning so that they turn into helium atoms. As a really cool fact, when a giant star starts to die, it’s core or centre starts to shrink.
Conclusion
As a it comes to the end of my information report, you now know what it means to be a star, it’s appearance, how a star’s life begins and some facts about a star. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my report or information report about stars, be in tune to see one of my next information reports relating to space. For more information visit: http://bit.ly/1iZ3sFu

If we all work and collaborate together we become a good team. I hope you enjoy looking at my presentation and hope that it will give you an idea of making your own DLO about the phases.

Mars The King Ruler of Death ( Information Report )
Mars is a cold planet. Through Mars’ centre, its solid core is known to be iron. Do you think that it’s possible for you to live on this furious, stranded planet? This report will give you facts and information on the planet Mars.
Surface Features
Mars is an ordinary and spherical planet just like earth. Features of its surface is filled with craters that were caused by ferocious asteroids and meteorites. As its own surface, it’s a hot red-glowing planet filled with humongous towering volcanoes, although it isn’t hot just cold. Mars is Earth’s next door neighbour. Interestingly, Mars is an uninhabitable planet with no living creatures. Mars also has canyons that are humongous. For its own surface features, it’s a place to commit suicide.
Human Exploration
Humans haven’t been to Mars, although there have been unmanned missions. Only 18 missions have been successful like rovers, landers, including orbiters but no flybys. Other companies instead of NASA have been sending missions across Mars as well, such as European Space Agency. Next missions have been bookmarked in 2016 , also rovers and samples are being collected throughout 2015 and are on going.
Could humans live on Mars?
Mars is a destructive and disruptive planet, which is uninhabitable for human life. Mars has a weak magnetic fields which allows chances of the radiation from the sun to pass through. The radiation can cause really bad skin cancer for our human skin. Natural disasters are caused through the day and night. As a natural disaster, destructive dust storms rage for months!!! The dust storms through Mars, destroy anything through its path. Also, the biggest volcano (Olympus Mons) lives in Mars. You may go to mars, but be ahead of what's ahead of you.
Mars’s Orbit
Mars is 228 million km away from the Sun and orbits on its own axis. This planet is tilted on a 29.19 degree angle. The way Mars tilts is the same way the Earth does, so Mars has four seasons like Earth. Like how it orbits, it has got a hemisphere separated just like Earth. Hotter summers are discovered because of where the southern hemisphere is pointing ( Like heading towards ). Mars spins on its axis like Earth and orbits the sun in 687 Earth days.
Conclusion
Thank you for reading my report on Mars, I hope this helped you with subjects apart of space (of course). For further information visit: http://www.kidsastronomy.com/mars.htm, Maybe you were excited and interested in writing your own information/non-chronological report.
Hi everyone, this is my information report on Mars. It has factual information that you probably didn't know but researched. Further information are added and is linked to a site. I hope you enjoy reading my information report and hoped that you have created one too. See you on my next post. Kite koe i muri ( See you Later ).
