In Week 6 of Term 1 our class focussed on how to write great explanations. We wrote about how to survive your first night in Minecraft (the game a lot of us are obsessed with!).
Here is my writing, after I have self-assessed and peer-assessed my work.
Hello Everyone,
Begin Writing Here: HOW TO SURVIVE YOUR FIRST NIGHT IN MINECRAFT
Have you ever played minecraft and don’t know how to survive your first night? Well it is pretty simple, I will tell you how to survive your first night. Minecraft is a creative game with really cool creatures and figures.
First of all, you need to collect wood from the trees to create oak wood planks. Collect dirt from the ground to create a house with extra blocks. With the oak wood planks create sticks and resources to help you survive though the mobs that come in through your house. Quickly collect cobblestone to make a furnace and crafting table. Then build your house. Either build your house on a flat surface or on a mountain. Use the dirt that you mined in the beginning to create your house with extra blocks.
Secondly, create wooden tools like swords, pickaxe, axes, shovels and maybe a hoe ( if you want to build a garden) . After that you need to have a crafting table and a furnace so you could create charcoal and cooked food. My first tip for you is to have a chest, crafting table and a furnace at all times to store and create new things. The pickaxe is used to mine cobblestone, coal and many other cave exploration. An Axe is used to mine wood and wood planks of any kind. The sword is used for you to protect yourself from mobs.
your shelter with either your dirt or your oak wood planks. You can build your house where it has a beautiful view from the mountains. Kill 3 sheeps to collect wool, and break more wood to make oak wood planks. Have a bed ready for night to sleep and carry on from the day till morning. Remember to have food ready for your hunger, because if your hunger bar is depressed you will expire and will have to respawn.
Generally be ready for the night and make torches with coal and sticks. Have it ready to have light in your house when it darkens. Make sure you have your sword ready in case the zombies break in through your door. Mine the sand to smelt later for the glass. Add and frame your roof and door to have your house secured when it is night time.
After you have secured and surrounded you house, sleep or take a nap. You have now survived the first night.
